The Gouveia family, longtime Croton residents, donated the Hudson riverfront property that’s become the park. After work to prepare the property for public use, Gouveia Park is now officially open.
The park is open daily from 8AM to 9PM. Please note that in accordance with our other parks, with the exception of the Croton Landing trail and the Black Rock dog park, dogs are not permitted at Gouveia Park.
We invite you to walk, hike, stroll, picnic, and enjoy the grounds. As the property is extensive, visitors are urged to wear walking shoes suitable for traversing lawns and hills. You are welcome to bring in lawn chairs, picnic supplies, and prepared food. During this time the park will be a “carry in, carry out” facility. A Port a San will be available. Staff will be on hand. During these times the residential house will not be available to view.
About half of the property is park while the rest is woods.
