Verdi’s IL TROVATORE – Free Summer Opera presented by Taconic Opera & New York Opera Conservatory

🎉 Summer operas are back! Join us for Verdi’s “Il Trovatore,” showcasing our New York Opera Conservatory young artists! 🎶
Set in the Middle Ages, this gripping tale of love and revenge follows the Count as he seeks vengeance for his brother’s death at the hands of the traveller Azucena. Raised by Azucena, Manrico is the Count’s mortal enemy, yet both are in love with Leonora.
“Il Trovatore” is considered by many to be Verdi’s best bel-canto opera, featuring extravagant and challenging vocals. It features well-known melodies such as the famous Anvil Chorus, Azucena’s poignant “Condotta,” and Manrico’s soaring “Di quella pira.”
Our young artist productions include four performances – all free to attend!
