Eco Art

To align students with eco-art and eco-artistic lifestyle, life skills, and interior design by providing an opportunity to investigate through immersive eco-art journaling and techniques which allow for understanding, knowledge, and inspiration.

To share information on eco-artists, eco-art works, and eco-activism related to experiencing interconnectivity within our natural world, reducing our ecological footprint, and creating new patterns of sustainable behavior of individuals, groups, and society as a whole.

Sessions would reflect seasonal themes and loosely follow typical school year thematics to support traditional classroom learning. Mediums of printmaking, paper making, clay construction, mobile and wire sculpture design, watercolor technique, pigment making, and collage are all examples of session exploration.

Each session will include a background discussion of artists who employed the technique, their understanding of their community and place, and their experience of hands-on implementation of the method.

Natural elements, found objects, and recycled materials will all be explored. Both individual pieces and collaborative endeavors will be explored. Potential for a multi-medium/media “Expressive Eco-Arts” Gallery show online or at a local Host site.
